Animals‚ sees the Oxford-based indie kids take care of the wizardry, combining math-rock time signatures, intricate guitar / bass tapestries and a rip-roaring vocal that swoops above the virtuoso sonics like a musical trapeze artists. The tracks themselves retain a fine balance between the intellectual and emotional, the cerebral and the visceral. - Rock Sound
Opening Song ‘Chinchilla’ is an intricate Foals-gone-emo sigh of a rocker. ‘Baboon’ brings the math-rock virtuoso further to the fore, pushing it and ‘Badger’ atmospherically in the realm of Mogwai or Dirty Projectors. Showing they can do nice choruses when they want is ‘Lemur’, which is like a brainy Snow Patrol. – NME
When This Town Needs Gun hit their mark they sound stylish, sussed and like reformed mathcore men Minus The Bear covering seminal Mancunian miserablists The Smiths. Good, in other words Remember the name This Town Needs Guns‚. Although in fairness, it‚s hard to forget. - Kerrang
Forget Radiohead; Oxford is soon to be remembered as the city where this precocious young act began its rise to success. – Drowned In Sound | | Type of Label | Indie |

| About THIS TOWN NEEDS GUNS |
Note: It's always great to get messages from people, but please if you've activated the option to only receive emails from 'friends', please either add us as a friend so I can reply to you, or switch the option off. It's so upsetting to write a long reply and then not be able to send it because we're not 'friends'. Grrrrr!
Download Amnesty (kinda)
So this is a little new thing we thought we'd try out. Basically we are super poor. We need all sorts of stuff to help us tour and we can't afford any of it. We're not the only ones. We do releases through independent labels who are surviving from one release to the next. We are so pleased when we see blogs and torrent sites offering our music for free as it's pretty much how most people discover new music these days. We don't have a problem with anyone downloading our stuff, but if you have downloaded a record/release of our music and listen to it regularly, it would be nice if you could spare some cash to help go towards paying for future recordings. Making music is expensive especially when you consider touring/recording/release costs. We don't want to stop people listening to our music, but if you do download it for free and enjoy it we don't think it is unreasonable for you to donate some money towards helping us (and the labels that release our work) to keep going. If you would like to donate something then that is great. It would also be nice if you would let us know which release you have downloaded (or just let us know which country you live in) so the right label gets money they have worked so hard for on our behalf. Oh and don't worry, we're not going to hunt you down and send abusive emails or anything. Far from it infact. Many thanks.
